I need help identifying the following shrub.

It's medium height and not too much spread. The stems are two-tone, rust color on on side and a pale green on the other. The leaves grow directly from the stem and are spade shape, being pale green with rust colored spots on them.

At the end of each stem, in the spring it has white flower clusters that then turns red berries which eventually turn black.

I have four of these little shrubs and not even our university extension office has a clue. They "think" it is a form of St.John Wort, but are not sure.

Please help, for my peace of mind.
