Roses - finally!

I went out this morning to take my usual run through the yard before I left for work and low and behold - roses opened on my Old Blush climber, Collette Climber, one that will probably be open when I get home on Teasing Georgia and Tess of D'urbeville!!! Life is good!

And I was happy to have buds.
But the first peony is opening today.

I have buds on roses at this time, peony not ready yet either. iris and azalea are blooming.

Have you noticed any aphids on your roses this year? Mine are peculiarly aphid free. I just remember aphids starting about the same time as the buds. Already, I found some sawfly larvaea starting on the leaves.
My ninebark on the other hand is totally infested with black and green aphids for the first time.

Mine are starting to fill w/ buds, but my peonies are not yet there.
