Where can we find artichokes in NJ??

My husband is from California and, after watching Lidia's show tonight where she made about five different dishes with artichokes, he's CRAVING them (he's also a chef). This is his first summer here in Jersey and I don't have a clue about where to find them. Are they even available here now??

Does anyone have any idea as to where there may be a farmer's market or some other venue to find them?

Thanks for any advice.

Where do you live? Do you mean just to buy and cook them? I'm in eastern Monmouth county, and every grocery store has them, including Wegman's, Whole Foods, ShopRite and Foodtown.

We are in Jackson. ShopRite has them but they're not good and really expensive. I LOVE D.O. in Colts Neck.....we'll take a look there on our next day off.

They will probably be even more expensive at DO, but they should be fresher, and DO might have the baby artichokes. Might be good for the grill this weekend, hmmmm...
