Great vegetable garden, I am dying to plant one but there's no water source where I want to dig it...
And your tomatoes are far more advanced than in my central Jersey region...

Had to locate the garden close to our house due to water. I hope to run frost free plumbing to my shed in the background. I started the plants from seed on March 1st. I am going to be out of town (Southern California and Baja) hopefully there will be ripe fruit upon my return!

Evan when I start my tomatoes on March 1st, they are never that big by now.

In Salem County we are surrounded by two bodies of water, the Delaware Bay and Atlantic Ocean. It stays very warm here compared to points north of route 40. If you look at the USDA climate map you will se there is a microclimate in southwest NJ. I started them on March 1, potted up about April 10 and moved them outside each morning until they were planted on May 9. So the plants are almost four months old. I also potted them up into pure horse manure compost. We are almost as far south as Baltimore. Our home was also built on a old asparagus farm so we have a loam/sand soil mixture. Excellent drainage. When do you all pick your first tomatoes? Just curious.

Nice garden and nice house. We just cleared an area for a vegetable garden, will start it next Spring. Our garden is not as open as yours, but hopefully it will get enough sun to be productive.
