I wouldn't change the ceiling it is so different and stunning. If you ge a server, maybe one in mirrors. I'd keep all accessories white - no yellow candles.

Definitely re-cover the seats in something white or light-colored. Either a rectangular or round table would be fine if it was in a light color -- either light wood, or painted. Some light-colored large-scale artwork would also add to the ambiance. Could you perhaps find a set of 16x20 (or so) artworks to hang?

I think your chairs need to be white - not light, not with white seats - WHITE. Preferably the table, too. You could have a black pattern on the white fabric, but it needs to be primarily white. The photo sent to you by judyg is almost exactly what I was picturing for you.

Don't change the walls they are beautiful...make the furnishing's like table legs and chairs white and maybe a mirror with crystal frame to break up the darkness of the wall and reflect light.

Set the table with white lace placemats, etc. Add a centerpiece such as a silver bowl full of colorful flowers. Cover chair seats with a bold floral pattern. You have a wonderful room and furniture. I wouldn't remove a thing!

Needs a big mirror. white seat covers, take the curtains off.... Different lighting....big bold color centerpiece like bright lime green... And a white rug to ground it all...

I like the white chairs and white ceiling. First thing in my head was mirrors, beautiful large mirrors especially in the foreground and background corners, reflecting the light from the window and the light fixtures. Pop a light colored runner on the table with a mirrored tray centerpiece.

If you are not partial to the chandelier, change that out for a more modern rectangular one.

Keep the chairs, change the table to a glass top mounted on sculptural bases. Add mirrors or art work to lighten the space. Go for a simple modern light fixture. I do not like the crystal fixture with the crystal candle holders.

Have you ever considered the simple solution of changing the fabric on the walls to a lighter hue? You could even do large stripes for a very dramatic affect using paint.

Generally speaking fabric treatments are done to walls to hide imperfections... unless you want to undertake a potentially major reno expense, I would leave the walls alone. That said, the walls, the doors, the floor, the chandelier, and the lines of the chairs are lovely. I would keep them. The table is the wrong scale and style for the room... I recommend a square or round dark pedestal table (proportionally scaled to the space)... a sheer Merlot sateen finish single round drum shade for the chandelier... for the chairs, eliminate the arms and have the chairs air brushed a cloud white... reupholster the seats a lovely Moroccan red... replace the candlesticks and holders with a crystal or cream ceramic bowl arrangement (you can always add strategically placed tea-lights when dining/entertaining)... get rid of the tea service table and baker's rack (wrong periods for the room), and replace them with a properly scaled tea cart in ebony or brass & glass finish, and a curio display... paint out the ceiling a lovely white fresco... replace the cream colored drapes with a dark rich velvet damask tone-on-tone accent grommet panels and 2" white faux wood blinds for light control... and voila, you have a room to dine for... enjoy! ;)

I think the table is the wrong proportion for the room. Take out the leaf? or get a square or round table and some slipper chairs in a gray velour or something like that. I think the chairs you have are making discordant notes.

I love your room! How bold and original. I agree with the white chairs, glass table, get rid of yellow candles, add a mirror. A pale gray chair could also work. I agree with getting rid of bakers rack and tea cart it does not feel right with the room. Another tack you could take with the chairs is to have them white lacquered and then recover the seats with a white fabric or a pop of hot pink or yellow. If you have the budget, new chairs might be the way to go since your existing chairs might be a little too small (short) for your space. It looks like you have at least 9 foot ceiling? Maybe 10'?

Lighten up the walls ....I think dark walls make the space appear smaller. The table is on the large size for the space.....if possible I would change it to a round table....if not, then add a decorative mirror on the wall, get a nice table runner than ties in the wall color
, some colorful flowers on the table and definitely update the fixture to something more eye catching to take the attention on something other than a large table. I do like the idea of fabric slipcovers for the chairs in a light color to add color and softness from looking at a big rectangular table.

I love the wall color...I would add rug (maybe sisal?) Just change the fabric on the chairs..zebra or red and white striped...you could put curtains to add color around the doorway...red toile. Add pictures or a mirror...
