Planting a Jasmine Vine

I have a question about planting a Jasmine vine. The area I want to plant it will receive full afternoon sun. I want the vine to grow up on posts we have on the patio.

1. Is this vine a good choice for Texas?

2. Does this vine grow nicely?

3. How does it fair in the winter? Does it look bad?

4. Which would you suggest from three choices: Wisteria, Passion flower, or Jasmine. (Based on which on would fair best in the mid-Texas climate, near the Austin area).

I know it's a lot. I really need help with this.

Jasmine do great here in S. NM. If you don't have prolonged periods of night temps. in the low 20s you shouldn't have a problem. As far as the choice, I have two suggestions: 1 - Goggle TA&M coop or 2 - Lady Bird Johnson Gardens. Both have great info.

I live near DFW, & jasmine grows well here...

but you might post your queries on the Texas Forum just to be sure.

There are a lot of knowledgeable gardeners over there, & they're all helpful, & some of them will be nearer your exact area than I am.
