The Stone Center in Bridgewater on East Main Street has a wide variety of different types of ston They even have a nice waterfall you can look at. It's across the street from Patriot Stadium and by the Home Depot and Target.

I think there's a stone yard just above the Lambertville/New Hope area on the PA side of the river. Also there was a really funky one on route 33 between Hightstown and Freehold - there was a great old woman there who could move large stones herself and a house in danger of disappearing behind the piles of rocks. I haven't been in years but there's still alot of stone there so I believe it's still in operation.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I made it up to Bridgewater on Saturday and was very impressed with the selection. They have a great display of the types of walls I was thinking about doing.

I also found the stone yard above New Hope today. It's called Delaware quarries and they have a second place in Langhorne PA that I went to also. They have something they call Delaware Valley Blend that my husband liked. I would prefer something with quartz in it but what I saw at the quarry in bridgewater was very expensive.

I remember passing the one on rt 33 and couldn't remember where I saw it so thanks for that suggestion. I will try and get there.

I didn't realize that these stone places where actually quarries and some of the stone came right from the ground. It was a very interesting weekend. I am learning that I like rocks although I am not sure I can afford what I want to do.

I am going to try to make it to Lakewood next.

There is a really good place in North Brunswick between Livingston Ave and Rte 1 - very reasonably priced and large selection. I think it's called Pinto's.
