Hi, new to the forum but I have had honeybees here in the Trenton/Hamilton area here are lately. Probably more then I actually saw all season.

I thought they went dormant too.

I kept bees years ago. They will go out anytime they find the temperatures high enough.

Jerseygirl9461, Haven't see many honeybees this year but some on the native hydrangea when that was blooming. I guess it depends if there is a beekeeper in the area.

We wanted to do beekeeping but when I started to read about how to do it...well it seemed like a huge committment of time and a lot of work. I don't know how the neighbors in a residential neigborhood would like it especially when we have a little princess living next to us :)

They've been out this weekend too! I have a container with to-be-recycled soda/beer cans, and they're buzzing all around it. I just put out a shallow tray of sugar water, with rocks to prevent any casualties...

tracey nj6, haven't seen any recently even though our other camellia has started to bloom and the temps are v. warm for this time of the year.

Not seeing any bees but the crickets are singing a little. I guess that will all change tomorrow.

Funny Loretta, I thought I heard some low chirping one night, and thought it was a cricket or two. Then I thought I was losing what little mind I have left; you have taken away some of my anxiety!

I guess all the unusual activity is history now; brrrrrr :(
