Visit to Adrian

You may know that Ken has one of the largest hosta collections I have heard about...

I had the extreme pleasure of meeting Ken in person Saturday evening, and I have to tell you all, if you ever have the opportunity to tour his garden, DO IT.

We have seen pics of his place on here but they don't do it justice. The 'giant' plants are really giant...

It's awesome, laid out in several really large growing beds so the plants can mature and have room to see the clump outined. Many plants I have never seen before or even heard of, grown very well with his drip irrigation system.

You go to one of the huge beds and get overwhelmed, and then when you look up there is another one a short walk away... and then another, and another! His garden will be on the hosta tour when it is in Michigan, and well deserves it.

He has quite a few conifers and unusual trees but I didn't know he grafts conifers. He also has several of his own seedlings that should be named and registered. You're a very talented guy!

Ken, maybe you can post a couple pics since I was too busy gawking at everything to take any!

It was also nice to meet the family. I wish I had come earlier in the day as we had to get back on the road at dusk... got home in Cleveland about 1:15 am Sunday, and I had to work the 9 a to 5 p day shift.

It was SOOOOO worth the lost sleep. I'll be back!

Thanks so much for your hospitality, Ken!
