Oh man... got up at 7:30 this morning and played in the yard until I had to go to work at ten.

The autumn clematis is blooming, the jasmine, the calamondin and key lime buds are all busting open, I took cuttings from most of the scented geraniums, and ripped up more peppermint. (Like it really discourages it or anything.)

I'm in olfactory heaven....

That's funny ... I thought I say some spurge in the May pictures. But it seems to have died out by August. ;)

Actually, I think the dog's vomit mold took care of it.

Alison, I remember looking at your pictures at the swap last may Your garden has grown in beautifully!! I am amazed and impressed how you utilize your space in your smallish area. It looks so good!!

I'm saving seeds too! Especially from the red scabiosa, which ranks as one of my favorite mutants in the garden this year.

When I grew it this summer it was very pretty; an appropriate scarlet for a Columbus garden:

I saved the seeds and sowed them this winter. I don't know what colors other people got from my seedlings, but all of mine formed almost black buttons, and bloomed a little darker than this:

Of the two, I like the wine-dark color better -- I'll save the seeds and see what it mutates into next summer!
