Thanks

Thanks to you and the other members of this forum and many of the others that I have been looking at for several months.

3 years ago in August I found that I had a severe case of breast cancer. The dr's did not expect me to live past December. But God had other plans for me and here I am.

I can not work any more but after working 40 years on my feet doing hair my body was getting tired. The cancer just wore me out, but I was determined to do something.

As a child my grandfather and father did a lot of gardening and both had green thumbs and I seem to take after them a little in my interest in flowers. So I decided that I would put in flower beds in my back yard to keep me busy. My husband encouraged me by buying me whatever seeds I wanted on E-bay for christmas "07 And that's when I started searching the internet for information on the flowers I had picked out.

So far I have winter sowed six plants, Last fall I took cuttings of my coleus and begonia's and my sister bought me a 2 bed seed starter with lights and I have started my seeds in baggies on top of the fridge and put them in pudding cups (25 right now) under the lights with a fan blowing on them so they don't get fungus.

I really like container gardening and plan to bury some pots in my beds with plants I'm starting now and direct sowing around them with the annuals I got.

This is so wonderful for me, good therapy since I love getting outside and digging in the dirt, I can do it all year long.

Thank you all so much for all the information you give. I could not do any of this without it.

I live in Tulsa and am working on a small city lot, but the backyard is just the right size for me, not to big.
