I'm a bit worried too. Three weeks of warm weather (up to 73 F) and the trees were starting to leaf out, before this week long cold snap.

I planted 3 arbs (thuja occidentalis) and am worried that they might not be able to take the cold since they were probably already actively growing and shipped from a warmer zone.

Time will tell I guess. The nice thing is that the sun is suppose to return and back to near normal by midweek(16C/61F for a high.)

Are you in the city of Winnipeg? Officially, it went down to -8C/18F at the airport, but stayed around -4C/25F at the forks. I know my thermometer more closely resembles temperature readings at the forks.

Soon as the sun came up and warmed the inside of my mini greenhouse (actually it's more like a coldframe) I put a few things outside for the day. It gets warm in the little greenhouse and plants were growing a bit 'leggy' being inside with poor light for too long.

I was at my parent's house removing sod yesterday, so they can plant some shrubs. I am sure the neighbors must think me crazy considering it was just a bit above freezing and occasionally a bit of snow fell.

Yes I'm in Winnipeg. I almost planted some stuff outside. I like to get a jump-start on the garden. I hate to wait until May long weekend to plant. I think I'll cover the plants again tonight.
