We had a bad thunderstorm with very heavy rain and small hail. It stripped the leaves off my plants and pounded some down to the ground. I had a beautiful bleeding heart and some delphinium plants that were doing really well this year-big, bushy, and blooming. Now after the storm the bleeding heart is just stems and a few damaged leaves. The delphinium fared a little better as it was closer to the porch and protected, but was still damaged. It is the end of june. I am wondering if I should just leave these plants alone, or if I should cut off the damaged parts. Should I just cut that bleeding heart back? I don't want to harm them anymore, but also want them to keep growing and to come back again next year. Please help.
