Same stuff, different year!

I was so proud of myself. At the beginning of August, I had all my hosta purchases and moves done, except one. I thought I was doing great!

Now, not so much. Since then, I've acquired another 15 hostas (most thru a local swap... and no, I didn't swap any plants I purchased from the grower who sold me nematode-infected plants) and another 12 or so other perennials.

I have NO IDEA where most of these are going to go on a permanent basis. I don't even know where I'm going to find room to overwinter the buggers. Time's a wastin' too! I work till 6pm M-F. This Saturday, Next weekend, I leave for a week. The next weekend I'm home and free is halloween weekend. That's WAY too late to plan on planting. Last year, we had a major snow on Oct 12!

So, here I am with nearly 30 plants to get into the ground, plus I need to divide a lot of lily bulbs before the snow flies.

I'm going to walk around my garden tonight to see if I can find room for at least a few of the plants. Worse comes to worst, I suppose I can dig up those big lily clumps, overwinter the bulbs in the garage and put most of the hostas in that spot. Not ideal since it gets a LOT of sun and I may not be able to move the hostas until June of next year.

Oh, and to add insult to injury, I'm hosting the spring event for my hosta-swap group. UGH!

Anyone else facing the no-time and no-room problem?
