Preparations for swaps

I have absolutely nothing to bring to a swap this year, as this is the first summer I've had in the house, and we're putting stuff in mostly. However, I'd like to plan ahead and have stuff ready for the (I assume) spring swap. How can I do this? I have zillions of seeds from the exchanges, which I'm planning on wintersowing. Should I just sow extra containers (little cups?) of lots of the seeds and plan on bringing those? Or are seedlings frowned upon for swaps? If seedlings are OK, are there particular types of things it would be better or worse to bring? For that matter, can I bring seeds as well?

I dont (yet) know how to take and root cuttings, and I only have a very few things that look ready to be divided, and I'm planning on putting those divisions back in my own garden this fall...

I've put in several shrubs this year (lilac, mountain laurel, azalea, potentilla, forsythia, redtwig dogwood, hydrangea, hibiscus, butterfly bush--wow! we've actually done a lot this year!) but they're all small, I would assume trying to take cuttings in their first year is a bad idea? Can I start cuttings in the spring for a spring swap, is there a particular season for doing cuttings? And of course, how do I do it? I'd love to have a bunch to contribute next year....

Thanks!
