I have not tried Ringer, but SBM gave me the best lawn I have ever had last year. This year my grass has already greened up when others are still dormant. I wish I could post a picture.

I have tried both and I prefer SBM because I think it produces better results.

If you are an organic purist, be aware that Ringer contains Chilean Nitrate (aka sodium nitrate). Sodium nitrate is a naturally occurring inorganic compound. Since it is naturally occurring (can be mined), sodium nitrate is approved for organic crop production provided that no more than 20% of the total fertilizer applied is sodium nitrate.

Thanks for the info... I'll try to find sbm this year and try it out. I applied Ringer twice last year along with CGM. Do I apply SBM twice also?

It depends on your grass type and lawn area. If you have KBG, Rye, and Fine Fescue, one pound of nitrogen per 1,000 sq ft times four applications per year is considered optimal. That's equivalent to 11 lbs of SBM per 1,000 sq ft four times per year.
