Wow, I am just reading about using things I have been feeding my horses for fertilizing -- wow.

I am in Marshall County OKlahoma - (southern OK) and we bought basically pasture and have made it our homestead. I think the lawn has bermuda and I dont know what else. . . so I would just be starting out doing organinc. What is the suggestion to use and when should I apply it?

Also, the way we faced our house will shade the front yard quite a bit -- I would like to plant some shade loving grass in that area . . . any suggestions for what to plant?

You might be too far south but the best shade tolerant grass I know of is a good tall fescue. I think it seems to grow better in shade than sun. If you get enough shade and your soil is decent enough for the time being to get it growing then maybe it can survive there but you might check around locally to see if anyone else gets it to grow well.
