Spectacular! One rarely sees Aerangis postings and when one does, one REALLY rarely (never) sees spiculata. I've had one for a few years but it hasn't bloomed. Do you give it a long dry rest in winter? keep em coming!

Hey MrB! My plants generally "tell" me when they're ready to shut down, usually in November...although spicky here kept growing that inflorescence through the winter. Humidity in my greenhouse generally stays within the 50-70% range most of the time, and in the winter I can go two to three weeks between watering sometimes. I can't give hard-and-fast rules -- it's pretty much a seat-of-the-pants thing.

Then, in late February/early March I'll begin see those root tips starting to wake up. I'll maybe step up the watering a bit, but wait until April to begin the seasonal dampness in earnest. Even now, though, spiculata stays on the dry side, because there's very little moss on the mount. That's one of the reasons it tends to be an "easy" grower for me, because its water needs aren't as critical as the others.

Clearly, though, I need to make some adjustments to it to get a bit more green growth. I've declared war on the roaches this year with the heavy guns (.25% Permethrin), and it's managed to avoid their insatiable chewing. Sadly, I lost my verdickii last fall due to the little monsters! Grrr...
