I've been organic in my yard about 5 years now. My next door neighbor is a weed and feeder. One thing I notice is that in late spring/early summer my grass goes into heavy seed (i.e. those hard seed filled grasses pop up all over). It's probably better for the grass, but for that month or 2 it just doesnt look as good. My neigbor's yard never seems to do it. Would like for my grass to not "seed" as much.

My question is, what's the main cause for the seed grasses? Is a pre-emergent herbicide keeping it out of my neighbors yard? Or maybe my fertilizer had too much phosporous that caused my St. Augustine to bud like that. I think a few years ago i used to just use the organic fertilizer I could find at the store, but those would be at a ratio of like 4-3-2 (or something similar). I've since changed to a ratio more like 4-1-2 in the spring. My neighbor's of course weed-feed in spring is something like 29-0-3. Any feedback would be appreciated.
