The only thing that worries me about it is the lip. If you look carefully at the photo on Jays it is solid mauve with no white and quite ruffled, not very much like this. C.amethystoglossa is one of the most hybridised Catts, as everyone wants the spots. The fact that yours isn't named suggests it is probably a hybrid. You might want to look at a few more photos on flickr or Photobucket, however.You can still tell your friends you got a bargain though either way.

Yeah, the nose on her isn't quite right. I thought it had a walkeriana look to it. I am still hoping to ID her though so if anyone recognizes this Catt, please chime in. Thanks!

Its a hybrid possibly even with acelandea which has produced offspring in this color range. C Summer Spots is an example of an acelandea cross that looks somewhat similar to this.

The petals are not as wide as amethystoglossa.

You will never be able to ID from a photo. Most probably these are culls from a growers bench and not registered. There are thousands of hybrids made that do not look different enough to justify continued production.

I doubt this one was a cull; it was originally selling for full price at a high end nursery in Naples but when a plant stops flowering or if the tag becomes lost, it is put on the clearance bench. Since it is still blooming and has no tag, it ended up on the bench. I think it is some kind of hybrid and if I am really determined to find out, I can bring it back to the nursery when the orchid expert is there as she does all of the ordering, price reductions, etc. She might remember this one.
