We get it at our local CO-OP or at Southerlands. It is a 16oz bottle and cost around $20. It is concentranted and has to be diluted in water.

What about putting clear plastic down on the grass?

It will just keep growing under,thru and beyond the clear plastic.We tried alot of things and heavy cardboard with mulch over it and you still have to watch it to come out but that has killed it.I am smothering it and had some chickens in a chicken tractor that contolled it but did not kill it.I decided to try everything but poison spray and the sprays are not always effective either.It is tough stuff.The stems are like wire.Somebody said they built a cement barrier that went down feet and it went under it.Posy Pet

posypets right-- i've put down plastic, left it for 5 years!-and when i took it up, the white roots were all over the ground--heading for the other side[ and forget landscape fabric, comes up thru it fine.i've burned it--thrives on that--tried, much as i hated to, brush killer-dont work-- now if i could just combine it with my other pest, honeysuckle--think i'd have a never fail plant that anyone would want? ( hope not!!!)

A yard company contractor told me that there is a spray that will kill it but won't harm your ornamentals, unfortunately, he didn't tell me the name. I'm going to go check out products at my local nursery.

"Over the top" active ingredient fluazifop-p-butyl"

That's one brand name (and the one I buy locally) that will kill bermuda grass without harming anything else. There are many more. Grass-B-Gone is another but is a premix and doesn't go far. Check for the chemical active ingredient and I'll bet you can find it locally. It works and the fight with bermuda grass in ornamental plantings is OVER!

I thought solarizing killed everything!

Keep a 3 foot wide "dead zone" around any growing area. It is amazing to me how fast that darned stuff can crawl across and be right back where you don't want it. We have fought with it for nearly 20 years to keep it out of an asparagus patch.
