What is the row of greenery?

J. honeysuckle that covered a spreading juniper. I like my very tall grass giant miscanthus. It is growing in a tough spot and is good for screening wild areas. It is easier to cut in spring because the stalks are thick but not so many of them.

Nice photos Helen. I love ornamental grass and evergreens in the winter. Sycamore is picturesque all year but they look even prettier with snow on the branches. What's the story behind the statue in the top photo?

The pretty scenery and birds at the feeder make winter more bearable but I have to say I'm ready for spring. : (

Here's a White Crowned Sparrow that was looking for chunks of homemade suet under my feeder.

That is a metal head of a season lady. I forget what you call them. I had a book as a child that had pictures for woman representing Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. She has grapes for hair. I wired her on a Linden tree that was dying. For a while I thought of carving the tree but it was too hard and required skill. You have a good camera like Glenda; I can't get that close to birds. You got the texture of the snow. The area around my bird feeder is nasty and would not look good if I could get a picture. I am on my last bag of sunflowers seeds. They have gone through lots of seed and suet.

I have a Sony with a 10x zoom and took that one through the glass part of our storm door just using the auto focus. The bird was less than 10 feet from me so that helps. Cameras just keep getting better. Some photos that people post just blow me away they're so good, especially the ones I've seen of hummingbirds. It's like looking at their feathers under a microscope they're so detailed.

I like the snow pictures. I like snow. I also like the lady. Do they have more snow on them now? We got a little here but is still trying to do something. Kathy
