Sounds more like corn flour. Is the CM damp or clumpy?

I use my el-cheapo broadcast spreader @ 1/2 open. I also fill my hand held spreader with CM to let my 4 year old help. Both work very well. Every once in awhile I need to bounce the spreader as Im walking to clear any clogs.

My only advise to you is try filling your broadcast spreader 1/2 full or less with corn meal. Then, as your walking continually bounce the spreader and see if that helps.

I use a coffee container for spreading just about everything I put on my lawn. This includes (at one time or another) alfalfa pellets, compost, humate, xeolite, seaweed powder, cornmeal, CGM, SBM, yada, yada, yada. Most organics don't need even application to look good, and with broadcast spreaders it just wasn't worth the mess for me. The container has finger grips that make it perfect for shaking and spreading or slinging. It can sling liquids really well.
