You don't ever need to overseed bermuda. Bermudagrass will fill in on it's own. In this other thread you asked me for a maintenance schedule for bermuda. The detailed info I gave you there is what I've learned from all the experts here over the years & has made my lawn a showpiece. If you simply follow those guidelines, you'll encourage your turf and it'll fill in the thin spots nicely. The only exception is if those spots are in areas that receive less than 6 (or so) hours of sun each day. If your "thin" spots are in shady areas, then we have other stuff to talk about.

Oh, and DON'T overseed your bermuda with any ryegrass! There are many threads in the Lawn Care forum explaining the pros & cons.....the cons far outweigh the pros!

Whooo, glad I asked. I'll just be picking up soybean meal instead to put down in a week or two. I'm just so anxious for my lawn to be looking half as good as yours. It actually does look better than a few weeks ago. I think I'm even going to try to make my own compost tea. Patience! Thanks Dan
