Sweet! One of my favorite orchids.
I had a dream last year where mine had a ton of spikes and bloomed like crazy. Are you giving yours a lot of light? Your leaf tips look kind of reddish.

I think I am giving it a lot of light. It is in the middle of my case, which means it gets overlap from the two lights. It doesn't seem to mind. It grows like mad. My other kirkii would rather not have lots of light. I have it shaded with some mosquito netting. Since I did that, it quit getting these horrible yellow/brown leaf ends, and has sent out some new growth. It is a deep green. I find it interesting how different these two kirkiis are.

Remember how we compared kirkiis a while back? I have two too and one of them is definitely different from the other one. One of mine is throwing multiple spikes with one or two buds...the other one is not doing much (growing a new leaf I think?) so I wonder if there are differences in regional subtypes of this species.

Ha ha, I can't sniff it now, this was from about a month ago. I'm having trouble detecting a scent from my orchids in general though. If they're night fragrant, does it actually have to be dark for them to have a scent? I'm a major night owl, so there's a light on in my room, even if not over the orchids themselves. I'm wondering if that's my problem...

I got the kirkii that's going crazy from SBOE. The other kirkii that is being much more sedate is from someone's collection, and has more to its name - it was labeled Aerangis kirkii 'Magnifico'. Couldn't find any info on it online.
