Ahhhhhhh, delphiniums!!! I wish I knew how much money I have spent trying to raise these gorgeous things in the Ozarks.

I finally got a few plants to survive a couple of years ago but who knows if they will come back this year.

Mine were never as spectacular as the ones grown up north, but I keep trying.

I've tried several times to and finally gave up. maybe it's our humidity?

Delphiniums and Lupines look so good in the catalog and magazine pictures but almost always meet their doom during the Summer heat in this region! There are varieties that are so called heat tolerant and I'm sure that is somewhat true but they still suffer in this zone. All that said go ahead and try.....you cannot consider anything plant related a failure until it has been tried unsuccessfully three times!!!! For Delphinium type blooms try seeding annual larkspurs!!

I have tried in the past with limited success. I have never had them come back. They may work as an annual.
