I have the ranunculus"flore pleno".It looks like the end of an ear of corn.The flowers are shiny yellow.It does spread but is not invasive.My grandmother had it and I remembered it from my childhood-got it and shared it and lost it but have it now again.It wants a shady moist well drained location with nice soil.I think white flower farm has listed it but its not in their current catalog.We also have the field variety that is invasive and a single wild flower that is also a ranunculus.I gave up the single variety when I got the double.Aren't you fairly close to me?Posy Pet

I know where there is a "Buttered Popcorn Ranunculus" in a pot with your name on it! Come to the Farmer's Market in Springfield Saturday morning! This one spreads a little but has the little yellow waxy blooms.
