What a nice surprise. Mine started out labeled but now I have no idea. My clematis have buds but no flowers yet. I guess this would be a good time to note the location of the ones that bloom early for pruning info next spring.

I tried to figure out all mine and got most of them but I have several purples that I am not sure of. I guess it doesn't matter but it makes me crazy not to know.

I had one other bloom yesterday too ?? not sure which one it is either. It is a pale milky white with dark stamens.

Mine are finally blooming. These are the same ones I showed last year.

Helen, they are beautiful. I really like that pink. Do you know which it is? I think I have the blue or one very similar.

I do love clematis. I think I have 15 now.

Some of my blues are H F Young or something like that, I think one of my blues is President. I have Barbara Jackman too. I don't know what the pink one is.

My problem is I've neglected to wrap the growth around my deck so it's all curling in on itself to form what amounts to a clematis shrub. Pretty but I want a vine.

teeandcee, clematis really twine around wire or something smaller than deck posts better. Maybe you can place some of that green welded fencing gently behind it and up next to the deck and pull it to the wire. I have moved them in a tangle and then use green twine to tie the whole shrub in place close to the wire. I have even 'teased' out some tendrils to get them started. All by themselves the leaves will twist around a slender wire, string or whatever.Hope that makes sense to you.

Or you can tie some chicken wire around the deck posts...you just need something smaller for them.

Gldno, that's a great idea. Thanks! I'm going to pick up something that'll work tomorrow. That may explain why I see them against walls or trellis so much.
