Lilacs are Blooming (clickable pics)

They are fully open now and I must say it makes mowing a pleasure, I now have them on three sides on the yard.

I have a new one 'Annabel'. I think this is just the second year for her and she has a few large blooms and is very fragrant. Martha Stewart describes her

Lilac: Syringa x hyacinthiflora Annabel. 'Annabel' produces sweet-scented double, soft-pink flowers in densely-branched spikes in spring.

That describes her perfectly.

This one was supposed to be white;so I don't know the variety it actually is,

Yours have lots of flowers. Mine have lots of shrub to the amount of flowers. I don't do anything to care for mine. Maybe I should give them some lime. You are making me want lilacs now and I haven't found the pie cherry you made me want yet.

helen, I always order my trees online. This tree is old enough that they probably have brought out new ones and don't carry the oldies anymore.

I have bought from Miller Bros in Canandaigua, NY, Stark Bros in Louisiana, Mo. and the latest and my favorite is ACN Nurseries in Pa. I have 4 trees coming from them soon.

I bet your whole yard smells good Glenda!

Do the named varieties bloom longer than old fashioned lilacs? My mother offered me a start of hers and I'm trying to decide whether I need another shrub.
There's a new one out called Bloomerang that's supposed to repeat bloom all summer but I haven't seen many reviews on it yet.

This is the first year the named one has bloomed so I will let you know. I do like the bloom on it though.

Yes, I am sort of surrounded by lilacs on most sides now and I notice in early morning lots of fragrance.
