You have lots of nice things blooming. I love the salvia. It is time for another rain or I will be getting worried. We have good chances; I hope they come true.

Is the first one a smoke tree Helen? The leaves certainly are pretty.
The last one is Carolina Allspice. I've been watching for mine to leaf out but I don't think it's going to happen. I hate to confess that I killed it but I'm going to blame the hot summer last year so I won't feel so bad.

Yes the first picture is smoke tree. It is supposed to be tough and easy to grow but I have lost a few before this one. Christie I had trouble digging up the allspice. What I should have done is put starts in a pot here and let the plant grow for a season. The plant has off shoots but when you try to dig them, they are a tangle of roots and you have to be rough to get a piece out separated from the parent. I will try to get another piece out and grow it a while for you (that is if this summer is better than last).

Beautiful pictures everyone! I took pictures of fat, full buds on my roses April 29 last year. THIS year they're already fully budded out and about to bloom. I guesstimate most things are 2-4 weeks ahead of last year.

I'm not really complaining about that. I think my whole yard will be a mass of bloom all at once this year, which should be amazing to see.
