Did you start from plants or seeds?

I did Johnny Jump-ups a couple of years ago, thinking they would reseed everywhere....nary a plant. I tried some old seed this year, nothing germinated. Yet, I have wild violets everywhere. Strange. I love all the different colors you have.

I buy plants in the fall. They do better for me than pansies or at least I like them better. I do see a few that reseed but I mulch too much to depend on that. They are expensive because they are annuals. I could buy an azalea for what I pay for all of them, but their bright faces are nice to see in early spring.

They're gorgeous! I too have never had them reseed, especially considering all over the web and in books/magazines you read about how prolific they are. Hrmph.
