I think the shipping costs would be too high to make that a very palatable option. How far are you from any farms? Or horse stables? If there are any farms or horse stables, there must be feed stores (or farm supply stores).

Where do you live in Connecticut? There was another thread a few days ago from someone in Fairfield with lots of ideas for western CT. I live in Waterford, and I'm starting to learn a few places in eastern CT.

Here's a list of feed stores in Connecticut. You have to call around and ask for what you are looking for as well as compare prices. Most Agway's will order in stuff for you if they don't carry it, but the prices do vary by store, at least in my area they do.
