Holy moley, the *old* crocus are coming up!

The story: Fall of '03 I bought a bunch of bulbs. Didn't get to them at the appropriate time... but between Christmas and New Years there was a bit of a warm-up and the ground thawed, so I planted them then.

The tulips and the Chinodoxa came up the following spring (last year), although quite late to emerge. However, there was no sign of any crocus... and I later read that crocus need a good bit of time between planting and ground freeze in order to get their roots going.

So I figured that was the end of those, right? Wrong! They survived all through last summer, and are coming up now! Crazy, huh? Don't know if they'll bloom -- maybe it took all their energy stores to survive that long -- but I'm just surprised and happy that they are there at all!
