Millie, I don't know about Allgold. Mom used to raise Centennials, but last year ago I tried Beauregard and I loved them. They are a dark gold/red flesh and very sweet. Here is a picture of the best part of my crop:

They are in the shade so the color isn't too true.

I just planted 12 plants yesterday. I hope they do as well as last year's.

I have a couple of neighbors who want to raise the plants to sell. They say they have a ready made market for the Allgolds in this area. One gals mother used to raise them to sell. As for me, I'd try any old sweet tater...I just like them.
