lucky you, glad to hear it, i've been looking at mine. they look like dead weeds. i thought i lost them, but then the neighbor has a gorgeous one and hers looks like nothing yet as well. i'm keeping my fingers crossed.

i'm glad to see these postings. all but one of my bushes began putting forth leaves quite some time ago, and the leaves are covering all the branches now. one of them hasn't done anything, and i assumed it was lost forever, so i was gonna rip it out. after reading this, i think i'll give it some more time.

mine has been leafed out only a week or so. but it does seem early. Maybe it is because I cut it back to 1 foot this year at the end of winter

Well I always heard they are one of the last to bud....like usually at least not for another month or more in my area so I would not be fearful for those who's has not done so yet;)

All 3 of mine are showing new bright green growth. A full 3 weeks ahead of last year. My neighbors report the same on theirs. Hope the snow and below freezing temps of the last 2 days didn't do any damage.

i'm made the decision this year to not rip anything out that i think is dead until very late in the season. i've made some terrible mistakes in the past with great regret.

Very good foliage on 2 bushes of "Potters Purple". these are second year bushes, but look very healthy.
