Ok I live in NEw Castle PA that is in western pa. What grows well here and what time frame do we start planting?

Wow! That question covers a lot of ground. Do you mean veggies or flowers? Perennials, shrubs or annuals? How much sun, shade? Type of soil? Check with your neighbors who garden. They will be the most reliable contacts for you because they're in your area.

Sam, I'm in back of Freedom, PA. And we can grow a lot of plants. Perennials we can start planting around the first of May, some plant sooner, but I think the ground should be a little warmer for them to get a good start. Annuals, well we should wait until after the middle of May or later, we could get a frost up until the end of May. Come to the swap and you'll see what us PA gardeners plant, everything including the kitchen sink (garden art of course). LOL.
