No blooms yet but lots of buds-----

Azaleas are gorgeous.

I have about 18 Girard Fuschia azaleas (pink/purple) in the front and side and another 15 or so different types of azaleas in back. It is very nice. Soon, 5 Purple Passion rhododendrons will begin blooming. This is fun.

I love this time of year-----About 15 years ago my DH was propagating azaleas and I can't even count how many we have now but the yard is like a fairyland with them all blooming--except the ones with too much shade.

I have one yellow bud on my Carefree Sunshine---It is very early for this rose.

My first bloom will be, as always, Fru Dagmar Hartopp.

The azaleas are beautiful now. I have 10 Hino Crimson in the back that are now all blooming in unison. Then the 5 Purple Passion rhododendrons will bloom.

With luck, another 15 or so Weigela Wine & Roses will bloom. I am trying to fill in other months. I may pick another Crape Myrtle Pink Velour. My first was in a very windy part of the yard. So, it looks like they can take it here. Of course, last Winter was mild.

I used Mills Magic Mix on my roses this year. I think it added a good deal of vigor to them.

I was not expecting it, but I found two blooms on my 'stanwell perpetual' Saturday. Many of the other roses have buds and it is going to be a race for 2nd place honours between WInchester Cathedral and Duchesse d'Angoulême.

Oklahoma now has the lead in my garden. You can see color in the bud now. First blooms are always so big.

When I had Elina at my other place, the first bloom was always enormous.

I've got a few rose blooms as of yesterday, on the rugosas "Blanc de Cobert" and "Alba". Very exciting!
