Christie, could that be Sweet Rocket (Hesperus-sp?) The plants are biannuals and have a rosette pattern like yours have. If they are rockets, you are a lucky girl because they are really beautiful. And - you will have them for years because they shoot out seeds, everywhere--

My sweet rocket does not have the saw tooth margin. It looks like the plant will bloom soon. Then you'll know what it is going to do. The Name that plant forum is a quicker way.

I vote weed! I can't tell you how many of those I nurtured. They would get 3-4 feet tall....still no bloom before I realized it was a weed.

I have been doing likewise with a poppy looking leaf plant. It is now 36 inches...no bloom. I pulled up on but will let the other bloom just to see what it is....a weed of some kind but different.

Helen, the white hesperis has a little sawtooth leaf edging. It isn't hairy like the pink either. I will soon be collecting seeds from them.

I have them too; I just found one this morning among my impatients and hostas. It is interesting that I don't know the weeds in their early stages except for few common ones. I hate that prickly one that comes with the cow manure. I call it pig weed but it hampers my barefoot walking.

Well I thought I had every weed that was possible but had never seen these before. I had several earlier this spring that all came up in the same general area and was trying to remember what flowers I had planted there last year. Then more popped up and some on the other side of my yard and I started getting suspicious. I don't think I want them to go to seed so thanks for your help.

A follow-up on an unknown planted I posted back in April. After it bloomed, I put a photo on the Name that Plant forum and it was identified as double feverfew. I think a seed may have been a stow-away with some heuchera plants I got last year in a trade since it was close-by, or maybe it was just bird dropped. It's a pretty little plant and has a long bloom time but probably something I shouldn't let reseed.

I am very curious to know what these are? Did you ever get a name for them?

I didn't post it in the Name That Plant forum yet. I was going to wait until it starts blooming but I could go ahead and post it. They might be able to tell from the foliage.

Christie, I grow a names double feverfew, Virgo. I love it. I would let yours grow and self seed, you can always pull them up. The leaf is very distinctive.

I was pretty impressed with how long that feverfew bloomed. It was under a young pin oak and was getting very little sun. Just a little bit of full sun in the early morning and shady after that. I was thinking it might bloom even better if it got some more sun. How much sun does yours get Glenda. If I decide I WANT it to go to seed, I won't get any volunteers.
