That first picture is a good hot summer combination. Your plants look healthy including the salvia you showed before. Sometimes zinnias have ugly leaves; yours look great. My salvia is in dry soil and is not blooming as well as yours.

I didn't plant any zinnias this year. I thought I would get a lot of volunteers because I had so many last year. I do have some at least and will save some seeds this time.

Glenda, what are the yellow flowers? They look like some kind of sunflower.

They are a seedling from the original strain of Lorraine Sunshine heliopsis helianthoides. Some were true and had variegated leaves and some didn't. This plant has a little of both. I started them from seed a few years ago and they come back reliable being a perennial. Often the self-seed a little.
