Epidendrum armeniacum

No, its not from Armenia! - "armeniacum" means orange. Small semi-terrestrial from the foothills of the Andes, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia. Has a strong aromatic scent, not terribly pleasant.

Never bothered to look it up, but now I know why my Gongorora armeniaca is so named. The thick green stems and orange blooms combo is very striking!
