Identifying Lawn Grass/Weed

We recently had top soil brought in from James River area and now have a certain wild grass taking over the fescue we planted. It has a seed head that looks similar to oats and the plant has wide, long, dark green leaves. The roots are similar to a green onion in that they are close to the surface and fine. I checked pictures of Johnson grass, and several others, but haven't found anything that is similar. Can anyone give me a lead?
