I don't know why I didn't plant Moon & Stars this year. They had a great flavor. I just have the one volunteer and it only has one melon on it so far about the size of a tennis ball now.
My Sakata melons are blooming like crazy now. Surely those will have a chance to ripen since they are small. Surprisingly, the biggest vines are some that I planted in a five gallon container on my patio.

Glenda I saw your bees on the hummingbird feeder. I have been looking at my bees and they are mostly bumble bees and sweat bees. I don't see honey bees. There was an experiment that I was going to do about bees on sun flowers. Christie did you follow up on it or forget like I did?

We finally moved the feeder down to the shepherd's
hook so we could sit on the porch. Did it early this morning and they are still buzzing around the porch but have found the new location too. I see a small cluster on it now. We have plenty of flowers so don't know what the attraction is.

Glad you found some melons.
I have several bumble bees around here flitting from one flower to the next. I do wish I had a few homey bees around as well.
Christie moon an stars is one of the melons I planted as well.

Early each spring, when the Redbuds bloom, I have hundreds of Honeybee's. Then, I see a few each day as I'm in the garden. I do believe we still have a Honeybee Tree close, because they have never failed--some years less tho.
I like the Bumblees too, just not the sweatbees (they dont deserve to be capitalized!)
