I was visiting a friend on Greers Ferry last week. She asked for help in identifying a native plant in the forest.

Several plants grew close to each other, 4 - 8 feet tall, large, saucer-like leaves (some as large as 14" across), each independent on a hollow sounding stem. There was no evidence of any blooms. They were in a heavily wooded area.
