A lot of us in Oklahoma have had the exact same problem this year and believe it is linked to the excessive rainfall and cooler and cloudier-than-usual weather we have been experiencing.

For many who post regularly on the Oklahoma Forum, the greens have finally begun ripening now that we have had slightly more sunlight and warmth and slightly less rain for the last 2 or 3 weeks.

If your weather has been rainier/cooler/cloudier than usual, then your tomatoes should eventually ripen--and probably all at once too!

If, by chance, your weather has NOT been like ours, then my best guess is that your tomato plants might be receiving too much irrigation or too much shade--both of which can slow down ripening.

If your plants still look healthy, the odds are that the tomatoes will ripen before the heat takes out the plants. Even if the plants are sickly, I think your fruits still stand a good chance of ripening.

I have grown tomatoes my entire life, and grow a LOT of them every year, and this is one of the most difficult years ever for ripening. The weather just hasn't been on our side.

Thanks Dawn. I know they're not getting too much irrigation or shade so it has to be the weather. We're in for a hot dry week so maybe they'll start turning.
