do you give yours a rest? I have Dend. Hollywood and it's the same flower type. It didn't do well last winter and i'm wondering if regular watering was to blame. It gets full sun and a dunk once a week. I'm in zone 6, across from Detroit, it gets daytime / nighttime temp changes and we have good quality tap water, though last year it almost exclusively got rainwater.

any suggestions?

I am fortunate to live in Miami where it is so warm. It blooms like this in June and December.

Always pull it in if it is going down below 50 degrees---does not like it cold---these are hard cane Dendrobiums and do not get a dry rest. I only slow down on the watering and fertilizer a little as it is cooler in the "winter", if you can call it that!

awesome! so good to know! i'm definitely planning on reducing it's water to once every 2 weeks instead of every week until the end of january, it really hates being inside for the winter!

It really does not like to be below 60 degrees---will lose it leaves along the bottom part of the cane if it stays too cold and wet in winter. Hope you can add some heat and light for it inside :)
