I guess I haven't shown a picture of my single seed planted vine.

It has spread about 15 feet and looks wonderful and that is with zero additional water.

Could you tell what the vine had as support past the pole?

I haven't been out there to visit since the butterfly festival. I need to go again. There's always something different blooming. It helps me add to my wish list. lol

It is in the demonstration garden. Glenda can you see there are two uprights with metal at the bottom so it may be attached to concrete in the ground. I think at some point it was an arch to walk through. I didn't take many pictures because the garden has suffered from the heat. Last time I was there, things looked better. It was well cared for with lots of wildlife. I don't know how they can get anything out of their veggie garden with the fat groundhog who lives there. There were lots of butterflies and other insects everywhere. I am glad they don't use lots of poison.

The photo was taken in the Herb Gardens of the Master Gardener Demonstration Gardens which is in Nathanael Greene Park as opposed to Close Memorial Park. In reality, the goal is to call it Nathanael Greene:Close Memorial Park so it's a singular entity for the entire 114 acres.

I personally would have appreciated if you'd have taken photos of plants in heat stress. That's educational in and of itself.

The potager (aka Kitchen Garden) yields on average at least 700 pounds of produce per year which is donated to the Ozarks Food Harvest and area pantries. It yields produce because the organic matter of the soil was tested to be 11%, and it's irrigated on a timer. These are benefits most regular home vegetable plots don't have. Here is a video of the evolution of the potager from last year.

Critters are part of the journey of having a garden. Sharing with wildlife is part of it. And the responsible use of pesticides and herbicides are utilized only when necessary in the park. The exception is the potager where zero treatments have been used. Not even organic treatments have been used this year. Not a drop.

The Grand Opening of the Botanical Center is October 11-17, there will be activities the entire week.

Violet I enjoy going to the park and thought the fat low groudhog was cute, but it looked like he had been eating a lot. I think city kids would enjoy seeing the groundhog. I called it Close because I never know how to spell Nathanael and I am too lazy to look it up. The a and e get me. I think we all have been educated on what summer abused plants look like.
