They will chew the wires; you need to get them out before they do something really expensive.

That's why I quit growing sunflowers, because the squirrels would eat them. Nothing worse than seeing a half eatten sunflower.

Isn't that the crazy part. I know they like them and so do the birds. So we cut the heads from the plants when they are done and put them down away from the house so they can have them. They have always waited to "get" them before.
Wow just thought maybe they are already storing food for winter?

Well Helen that is on thing I do not have here.
My pair of hawks and their young one have taken off, migrate. They sure did thin down the bunnies, we had way too many. Haven't seen a snake all summer (knock on wood).
But spiders I have plenty.
