I actually did that last year with a bunch of passies. Due to lack of space, I had passies germinating in the same little greenhouse unit with some bananas. Bananas you are supposed to alternate temps. It worked great for the passies too I discovered, and I always do them that way now :) Just watch the soil surface for mold (like if it was staying too cold and wet, but 70 doesnt seem all that cold to me) I also had a grow light on these as well during germination, so it may have got a little heat from above too. Let us know how it goes for you.

I ran across this article tonight so I had to repost lol. It seems that J. Vanderplank recommends sandpapering seeds lightly, soaking them, and then cycling temps ( between 68F and 86F)for faster germination! Here's the article (scroll down a little to read about seed sowing.
