i'll never complain about lack of rain again. heavy rains rolled thru and flattened a lot of plants. most sprung back except for a red twig dogwood that looks absolutely absurd, all splayed out on the ground. and a few of the fish were missing from the pond after the heaviest rain, i suspect that they were washed out.

3 weeks ago, lightning hit the house. we've had quite a few thunderstorms since then, and as soon as i hear the rumble of thunder, i run around the house unplugging everything. perhaps i am just paranoid now, but i really cannot recall ever having so many thunderstorms.

We were away last, and were thrilled to come home to see the rain gauge had 4" in it!! Wahooo
