Put them in h2o or damp vermiculite or damp dirt... with or without liquid or powered rooting hormone.
Damp papertowells only will keep them alive for a few days at most.
Give lots of light but don't let them get too hot.

hmm, ok, transfer them to water. I dont have rotting hormone, but that should be OK right? Also, I remember you sent me some p. quadrangularis seed.. any germination tips??

i hve been comtemplating this same thing. is a seedling that is about 12" too young to take cuttings from? also, i don't think it is getting enough light- the leaves are small and spaced over 1" apart. thanks.

Rooting can take 2 weeks or so...Or however long it takes untill it roots or dies. Sure yeah use the hormone- I do. I like the liquid better than the powder, but have had good results with both.

I soak my seeds in oj for a few days then plant with a 'propigation warmer' thingy under the seedling tray(s). It raises the dirt temp a couple F to "stimulate germination" or so it says.

You may want to build & try a cloning box for your cuttings. They work very well.
